Birling Gap

South Downs National Park - January 2021

I live close to Birling Gap and can visit any season, anytime of the time and whatever the weather. The site has attracted me since we moved here. It is not only a playground for visitors but also lets you experience nature at its most benign or most fierce. One cannot only observe the effect of climate change but also the changing habits of people. For this selection I thought black and white pictures work best to demonstrate the fundament forces at play here.

Tail end of storm Brendan
After three winter storms
Storm Ciara
Endless energy
Storm Brendan damage
Once a sea bird
Geometric encounter
Still beautiful
Stranded milestone
Separation
Global attraction
Summer foam
Bubbly high tide
Strong summer winds
Some of the seven sisters and Belle Tout in the distance
